Flourishing in Life’s inception was birthed after I received my cancer diagnosis in 2014. Knowing and sharing the goodness of our Lord and the blessings He has for us is of great importance to me.
During this journey, there were many times I asked the Lord, “Why am I here? Do you have a plan and a purpose for my life?”
I spent time reflecting and the Lord stirred in me the desire to want to help others discover who they are in Christ. I prayed for the Lord to give me an inspirational word to help guide the path of my new journey.
Flourish was not a word I commonly used in my vocabulary but after seeing it on a building I knew this was the word I had been waiting for. I began to search in the bible for scripture that spoke of Flourishing and to my surprise there were scriptures with the w flourish. I asked the Lord to help me choose a verse that would be the guiding light for my new ministry.
I remember having a discussion with a woman in her 70’s and being really touched because she did not know her calling or purpose. No matter your age, I truly believe that there is a God given purpose for YOU here on earth. You may wonder why is growing in the knowledge of who God is and who you were created to be in Him important? It matters because He designed us all to be Flourishing in Life (Psalm 92:12-15).
“The righteous will flourish like a palm tree, they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon: planted in the house of the Lord, they will flourish in the courts of our God. They shall still bear fruit in old age; They shall be fresh and flourishing, to declared that the Lord is upright; He is my rock and there is no unrighteousness in Him.”
